Jardin Telling is a singer-songwriter based in Austin, TX, but originally grew up in The Woodlands, just north of Houston. She moved out to Austin in 2008 for college, later graduating from St. Edward’s University, but has always had a huge spot in her heart for songwriting and playing guitar. She was attracted to Austin first during her high school years for its charm of being known as the “Live Music Capitol of the World,” and after a college visit when she was 16, she was sold on the atmosphere and vibes the city portrayed.
Telling had taken several years off of music after college to focus on work as well as her training with running, but in 2015 realized that music had been missing from her life for far too long. With the help of her long-term friend Jon Potter, drummer, she was able to put together a full band (including drums, bass, and keys) to help personify her style of Folk/Indie/Americana-soul. Telling pulls inspiration from all facets, including musicians such as Tristan Prettyman, Ray Lamontagne, Damien Rice, Ryan Adams, and Jason Mraz. Her music is inspired by the events of her everyday life, and promises truth and vulnerability in her lyrics. Her debut EP, "Illuminate," was released summer '16 with the help of friends and family, and was recorded at Toy Car Studios in Austin, TX, Jan. '16. The EP is a testament to her ability to overcome the many challenges she's faced in her life, and is a compilation of memories and experiences since moving to Austin 9 years ago.
When she’s not playing around town, Telling is also an avid runner, loves being outside, practicing yoga (or attempting to), and finding new coffee shops to explore throughout the city.
